“The Pannonian culture is diverse, multilingual, open and multidimensional. It is a conglomeration of ethnic cultures that have grown together over time and have mutually benefited from each other's coexistence – we are proud to contribute to this.” Alex Karazman, Managing Director

KUGA is a place where new things are constantly being created and progressive ideas can unfold freely. New impulses for music, literature and philosophy can arise here. All ethnic groups have their say and social criticism is encouraged.

KUGA pursues the goals of promoting and maintaining multilingualism and of supporting creative work and activity. The organization aims to improve the quality of life of the people in the region and to counteract emigration from the area by means of a wide range of cultural activities and information and educational events.

KUGA was the focal point of the so-called “place-name sign movement”. Since the 1970s, homemade place-name signs have been repeatedly installed in various municipalities. It was only in 2000 that the right to bilingual place-name signs in Burgenland was implemented as a result of political pressure.

The KUGA – “KUlturna zadruGA” is a place where a multilingual and diverse cultural mediation takes place in the form of book presentations, theater performances, concerts, workshops, etc.

“We confidently and courageously take up topics that are ignored by other media and offers minorities and interested parties the opportunity to actively participate in program design, thus contributing significantly to the diversity of opinion” Jelica Saček, editor, journalist and moderator

Radio Mora (“Multilingual Open RAdio”) is the first independent radio station in Burgenland and has been making the cultural diversity of the Pannonian province audible and tangible for 30 years now in the languages German, Croatian, Hungarian and Romani.

Radio Mora's programming does not follow the interests of certain interest groups, but focuses equally on current political and social issues, albeit from the perspective of its listeners.

The linguistic and cultural richness of Burgenland is reflected in the multilingual news, radio programs and music mix, with a particular focus on Burgenland bands and musicians by following its credo of being a radio station by the people and for the people of the region.

For many years, there has been close cooperation with the federal high schools in Oberwart and Oberpullendorf. Students from both schools have the opportunity to create content and even their own shows several times a week and to broadcast them live.
